Cimco saves rather slowly now as compared to a few months agoGood news about CIMCO:
I reported an issue to them that causes their Editor to do not allow file saves if a file is being used by VERICUT. VERICUT 7.4 allows external changes, and CIMCO Edit was not working with this. They fixed it today and are supposed to publish the fix in a few days. Stay tuned!
That is a great news! That was a problem with Cimco that really annoyed me. Thanks for sharing that

TOOL BUILDER CRASHING ISSUE
Just think I narrowed it down a bit !
I built a lathe tool sheet yesterday with no issues, but this morning while building a mill tool sheet I was thinking what do I do different? And it hit me, in the mill the first tool is assembled with a Milling chuck and tool, well the second tool is a different tool duplicated from the master file then I copy the Milling chuck from the previous tool and paste it in to the next tool. Now when I start to duplicate the next tool from the master file it crashes. It’s as if the copy function is retaining something that causes the issue.
PROFILE SAVE ISSUE
After you make a change to the profile hit the close profile button and see the changes get saved.

The close profile button applys the changes, so does the pushpinup button. I have no idea what the pushpinup button is for, but it seems to save the profile.

I´m building a new WFL VMC in 7.4 and I´m bumping into some bugs that I didn´t catch on beta.
Some are pretty annoying and some are very specific and difficult to reproduce. But I´m getting them documented and CGTech is being very responsive in fixing 7.4...
I also miss a "Commit with changes" button in ToolMan. There are a few bugs there and the lack of a button just makes it worse... they took from us that feeling you did what you thought you did...

The cut copy paste functions are not consistent, sometimes getting doubles of a previous copy.
Seeing the same here. Plus that old irritating behavior that occurs when you move or delete a component in the machine tree, VERICUT annoyingly expands all nodes and sub nodes so you have to find where you were again...

Well, you are in luck!
We found some major bugs in the software that were working in 7.3.4 that are not in 7.4. We had to stop using 7.4 and go back to 7.3.4...
;;-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can you give any examples on those major bugs? I'm considering transfer to 7.4 pretty soon, but depending on what you have found I might change my mind.

I see some intermitent crashes when zooming in. During the refining VERICUT 7.4 crashes from time to time... I have multithreading enabled for refining.

Svante,
Sorry for the delay, All our bugs have been corrected with 7.4.1 except 1 that occurs on Tosnuc controls when we use the modal sub-program call. It is a problem with the local variables not being defined properly. I have talked to the support department and they tell me it is being worked on at the moment.
So, I am still waiting for them to fix it because this is a major issue with us.

The release notes for 7.4.1 is not accurate. They fixed more than what they mention in that document.

The sketcher in tool builder sometimes gets corrupted. You can open a new tool and sometimes the sketcher retains info from a tool that you may have previously built. If that happens better off saving then close and restart.
