The tool bat was nice before and the new one is going to take some getting use to for me. I have noticed when you duplicate a tool over to a new tool sheet it doesn't automatically high lite that just brought over tool so if you duplicate another tool it goes ahead of the previous tool messing up the order causing confusion when you start to edit the wrong tool.
The cut copy paste functions are not consistent, sometimes getting doubles of a previous copy.
In the substitution page in a project there are four columns now and you have to resize them every time you open up the page.
The status page has also changed and I'm not liking where the time of cut is located.
The home page is full of info now and easier to find stuff.

Well, you are in luck!
We found some major bugs in the software that were working in 7.3.4 that are not in 7.4. We had to stop using 7.4 and go back to 7.3.4...

I've seriously thought about that too rolling back 7.3.4 till they have a new release anyway.

They fixed a bunch of things and broke a few for us as well. My biggest frustration was to see things I reported on early days of Beta being shipped with the product. Some things pretty basic stuff.
Communication during Beta is not one of the CGTech strongest points. And I think this leads to things slliping through the cracks...

Do you mean toolman.bat?

Yes I do mean toolman.bat

Yes I do mean toolman.bat
Weird... Toolman is the module that I stress the most during tests I guess... I also use toolman.bat quite a bit... No crashes in 7.4 so far related to ToolMan...
But it´s very likely that some new stuff isn´t stable and your environment stress ToolMan more than mine I suppose...

I did a go to meeting with Nathan and of course it did not repeat it self but if it continues I will need to do another meeting till it does happen so he can experience it with me.
Our main library of tools that we pull from is on the network and not stored locally perhaps that is the problem area?

Depending on your network latency and reliability, yes, that can be an issue. VERICUT like all software out there relies on O/S API to retrieve and save data.
Do you have similar issues with other CAx packages?

I just noticed that I made a change to a tool and saved it, but the change does not take. I even tried a save as, and still reverts back to original. I haven't researched yet. The tools are originally being created from MasterCam interface. I'll dig more into it and report back what I find.

Yes corporate has been working on the network and Cimco saves rather slowly now as compared to a few months ago! I just did a tool sheet for a lathe job with no issues! So I'll chaulk it up to progress with the network!

Do this test if you can:
Export your tool library(ies) via file summary (Uncheck all other groups - Leave just tool libraries and their files) and read them from your local drive for sometime.
Be careful with a bug from File Summary that occurs if you are using libraries that reference other libraries - The original paths in the referenced library(ies) are exported without changes, what will make VERICUT to retrieve the referenced files from the original source, that is, your network.
It only occurs if you are using a referenced library. To make sure this won´t happen to you, go to file summary in the project that points a local library and see if there´s any network path in the file list.
Testing it locally will tell you if it is a Toolman issue or just your network.

Good news about CIMCO:
I reported an issue to them that causes their Editor to do not allow file saves if a file is being used by VERICUT. VERICUT 7.4 allows external changes, and CIMCO Edit was not working with this. They fixed it today and are supposed to publish the fix in a few days. Stay tuned!

OK, saved to local and I still have the same issue. Looks like it's just happening with revolved profiles. I can change anything in the profile click off and back on it and it reverts back to the original. There used to be a modify/add button that isn't present anymore. I'm thinking I'm not seeing a "apply changes" button or something.
