Endless "C" axis

Hello support team.

For some reason, I did the "CNC control upgrade" from Vericut 5.4 to 6.1.1 and this new one didn´t obey the "shortest option" for rotary "C" axis travel endless. Could you please help me in this issue

Thank you and best Regards from Brazil,

Re: Endless "C" axis

On the rotary tab under Configuration\Control Settings..

Absolute Rotary Direction

Shortest Distance option

You can set always CW/CCW, etc.

Hope that helps.

Re: Endless "C" axis

Hi,
I'm having the same issue with this endless 'c' not behaving.
I have the Absolute Rotary Direction Shortest Distance option set
and I still have a total 'c' axis rewind when 'c' exceeds 360°.
This is not how the machine (Hermle c800u - heid426)reacts.
Is there something I'm missing here or elsewhere? :?
Any help would be much appreciated

Cheers Jon

Re: Endless "C" axis

You have to change the Axis Rotary Type to "EIA (360 Absolute)" for the specific rotation axis (in your case it is the C-axis Rotary Type)

Re: Endless "C" axis

Hi Martin,
Still no good - 'c' is still rotating back to 0° when hitting the 360° limit :?  :?

Thanks all the same

Best Regards Jon

Re: Endless "C" axis

I've just set the C-axis Rotary Type to "EIA (360 Absolute)" and the Absolute Rotary Direction to "Shortest Distance" and it works perfectly for my Hermle C40U C-axis

Re: Endless "C" axis

I must be missing something else.
I think maybe a call to support is required here.
Thanks once again.

Re: Endless "C" axis

Hi again,
Had another fiddle before going to support.
I found that if the " Output Intermediate Points" is set to "No"
the 'C' doesn't physically rewind .
What will this do for other rotary 'C' moves?

Cheers Jon
