Multiple Stock Models in 6.1?

Hey everybody,

Not a new Vericut user but new to the forum - Can anyone tell me if its possible to use two models & have them automatically transfer to a second setup with new independent orientations?

I'm currently running Vericut 6.1 with the Verification, Multi-Axis & Auto-Diff options...

I'm familiar with how to set the transfer up with one stock model, but this one is really stumping me - with both models attached to a common stock component they become "glued" together (after cutting the first position) in their current orientation to each other (I have two parts aligned vertically - like a column). When the cut stock is transfered to the second setup I need to rearrange the orientation of the stock models separately (each piece turned 90 deg. & then aligned vertically in a column again)

I fiddled with trying two stock components, but Vericut hides one as soon as I start running the code... Is what I'm trying to do even a reality with base Vericut?

Thanks for any input.

Re: Multiple Stock Models in 6.1?

Welcome to the forum,

Because the workpiece view is static, you can only have one stock component displayed. To see 2 stock components, you need 2 views.
In the second view, right-click, Attach Component > select second stock name from the list. Each stock has its own view.

To locate the stock relative from one another, I would recommend using the Machine/Cut Stock view. Even though you will not see the machine move, you will see both parts at once.

Serge,

Thanks for the advice - I appreciate it. I'll give it a try when I get in tomorrow.

UPDATE:
Great Success! (Hi Five) that was what I need to know. Thanks again.

Re: Multiple Stock Models in 6.1?

I have same problem here, I need to machine a pair part ( 2 blocks of stock separately), and next setup I want  move each block to different position to machine the other side.

When I hit play button Vericut merge 2 blocks of stock become 1 cut stock, I want them separately. So I can position for next setup

Any way can I do this ?

Re: Multiple Stock Models in 6.1?

Qmp,

I had the same result at first too - from your screen shot I see that you have both stock models attached to the same stock component. Instead, create a second stock component & attach one stock model to each.

Then, in your second setup, create two stock components with the exact same names. Each model will transfer to its respective component.

Take a look above & follow Serge's advice on how you can see each of the models being cut when you run your simulation

Good luck, I hope this helps

I got it, but they are in two separated windows, like Mr SergeV metion above.

I would like to see them together in same window workpiece view

I have the same result, It looks like one at a time is all you can do in workpeice view (as Serge indicated above).

I don't know about your setup, but I only have the basic vericut package- I'm guessing you need to have full-blown machine sim. to be able to see both parts cut together (so you can simulate in machine view).

See the reply of Serge:

There is no way in the workpiece view, but the Machine/Cut Stock view.

You will have to open an enhancement request with CGTech for this.
