Tracking, or Listener, or...?

Hello!
May be stupid question, but - hope I will able to find solution.

How I can do tracking or listening for example X axis values?

I have long-bed CNC Machine and few segmented covers. When machine start X travelling from 0 to 25000, for example, I want to attach first cover after 1500, second - after 3000, third at 4500. .... And when motion back - disjoint third at 4500, second at 3000, so long.

How I can listen (observing?, tracking?) X axis (machine coords) value and attach some components?

Thanks!

Re: Tracking, or Listener, or...?

You just want the telescopic covers to unfold/fold with the table?
