Looking for TDM users that use the Vericut interface.   Specificaly the new iMVCT interface.  Maybe we can share ideas.

We are looking into TDM at my work as well. I'm curious if you are currently interfacing Vericut to TDM, or is this something new for you as well?

Re: TDM users with the Vericut interface.

We have been working in TDM since Mid January and are also working on implementing both Vericut and NX interfaces. We also have the iMCVT module. Have not had much success with it to date..

Hello,

we're also using TDM to import tools into VERICUT ToolManager.
I look forward sharing ideas.

Kind regards,
Lesley

Re: TDM users with the Vericut interface.

Hello,

does anyone know how to transfer tool driven points from TDM to VERICUT's Toolman by using the Access TDM interface?
We would like to use this to transfer one or more tool length compensations for each tool.

Thanks,
Lesley

Re: TDM users with the Vericut interface.

I don't think it is doable... none of the CAM interfaces I've seen so far are able to do it. WinTool interface can do it but it's a plug-in within the CAM.

And it does a very poor job exporting turning tools.

Re: TDM users with the Vericut interface.

Hello,

finally, we are now able to transfer multiple driven points from TDM to VERICUT (Toolman > access TDM).

It required quit some customization in TDM to get it working as we desired.
We use TDM 4.8 and VERICUT 7.4.3.

In TDM, we defined 6 new parameters that represent X, Y and Z components for 2 driven points:

Driven Point 1 X
Driven Point 1 Y
Driven Point 1 Z

Driven Point 2 X
Driven Point 2 Y
Driven Point 2 Z

These 6 parameters are then mapped to the correct VERICUT Toolman input parameters.

Driven point 1 (tool tip) is always defined in TDM and it is always transferred to VERICUT Toolman.
For general milling tools only Z is used. X & Y are set to zero.

Driven point 2 is only transferred to VERICUT Toolman if its X,Y & Z parameters in TDM are defined.
This way we can manage if we send 1 or 2 driven points to VERICUT Toolman.
Our tools never have more than 2 driven points.

All of this is easier said then done but with the help of TDM support and colleagues with good TDM knowledge we finally succeeded.

Kind regards,
Lesley
