Hi Guys, we are having problems with running Vericut. We are trying to Verify an Areospace part with all the machine components active to check for collisions etc. but it is taking forever (at a guess it takes 7 to 8 hours). The machine is actually quicker!! Here are our specs for our computers : currently... Xeon 3.2GHz, 1Gb 400MHz RAM, 256Mb Quadro FX1400. What can we do???? We are also using Windows 2000, would XP be better?

Check the following.
OPENGL mode is set when in MACHINE or MACHINE CUT STOCK MODE.
If making an AVI, you are out of luck, OPENGL can not be used currently. AVI creation can be very slow. When making AVI files 30fpm, we see 1-4 hours on 4 and 5 axis positioning machines with 30 tools and 100K+ NC program.
Have a separate view/window for the Workpiece and one for the machine.
One Machine Cut Stock view is often slower than the 2 separate ones.
Open the value of the Edit Properties Tolerances as much as you can.
Make sure the collision checking definitions for the machine ONLY include the things you want to collision check. The simpler the models and the fewer involved in collision checking the better.
Run task manager and make sure you are not using all the physical memory. 2GB is our standard for CAD/Vericut PCs.
