Kinds of G-Code offets

Hi Everyone,

I'm newbie of Vericut and confused about G-code Offsets.

Could you explain in detail about kinds of G-code Offsets?

What's Base Work Offset, Work Offsets, Program Zero, Input Program Zero (Special Z), RTCP Pivot Offset?

What are differences between them?

What does "register" mean? I read help but I don't undertand.

Is there anyone explain to me why sometime we use 1, 2, 3 for Register value and sometime we use 54, 55, 56?

The register field is was not designed only for controls using G54, but any number...

A G54,G55,G56 in a Fanuc or Siemens can be set as 1,2,3 in a Heidenhain control...

So in the register field you use the number of the offset YOUR control will use...

The sub-register field is meant for controls that have a secondary index to define the offset... For example Millplus, Fadal controls...

In a MillPlus for example you use G54.1, G54.2 and so on to set your workoffset...

In such case, the register would be 54 and the sub-register 1, 2..

It seems you did not get any formal training on VERICUT... Just as a tip, if you have doubts about any item on VERICUT interface, just click on the field or resource you want to learn about and hit F1 - VERICUT will take you to section of the help file explaining that field or resource. VERICUT is one of the most well documented CAx applications out there.

Last but not least, if the help file is already open this won´t work a 2nd time. You will have to close the help file, hit F1 again on the new field/resource in order to be taken to the right section...
