Programmable 4th axis haas

Can anyone explain how to setup a programmable 4th axis. Let me explain, we already do 4th and 5th axis programming driven by an A, B, or C in the NC code, but we still have a couple machines that use a mounted 4th axis with it's own internal program. In the NC code we would simply call a M190, or M20 and the Haas will move to the next position based on it's programmed step.

I hope I'm making sense.

Building the 4th axis is no problem, I just can rap my head around were I would put the positions that we would program into the haas unit.

Thanks

Ray

Re: Programmable 4th axis haas

Vericut will need some way of knowing rotations. maybe a comment in the program with your M20 code? not sure of the correct way to do this but the substitute function in vericut advanced machine options could work?
hopefully someone more knowledgeable chimes in.

Re: Programmable 4th axis haas

Make a sub program for the rotations and put it in the tree under sub programs, it'll take some trial and error to get the rotations to trigger correctly.
Good luck!
