I am a relatively new user to VeriCUT and one thing I find highly frustrating is the huge gap in graphics performance between VeriCUT and my CAD & CAM programs. I have a mid-range workstation graphics card (Quadro K2000 2Gb GDDR3) and 16Gb of RAM, but I notice that neither of those break sweat when I am pushing a bar through VeriCUT. So I am wondering if a bigger graphics card (4Gb say) or even two of those would improve the performance. As an indication of just how poorly VeriCUT is performing, I have a part that when it is sectioned takes up to a minute to regenerate when I do a simple reposition with the mouse middle button. When you are trying to measure a hole with seven or eight diameters and depths, delays like that can make the job very time consuming.

Have you enabled OpenGL for all views, which should give you a much better performance.
The properties of the views will allow you to check this.

Increasing the amount of video memory will not necessarily make Vericut run faster, I would suspect there is another reason for the slow simulation.
A couple of things to check for a start :-
1. As stpendl said above make sure you are using OpenGL, especially in Machine Cut/Stock View.
2. What Cut Tolerance do you have ? you can check this is File > Properties

Thanks for the responses.
I do have OpenGL enabled for all views and my tolerances are set as follows
Interpolation tolerance 0.01
Minimum error volume 3
Model tolerance 0.1
Cutting tolerance 0.5
Base cut tolerance on stock size
Rotary motion tolerance 0.1
Where do we go from here?

Approximately what size is the part ?

Physically or in Mb?
Physically it is approx. 260 x 170 x 90
In Mb, well the file summary ZIP file clocks in at over 250Mb. The part is very curvy and has lots of features on it and the two NC programs doing the machining are both over 5Mb in size.

Wow! so something in there is quite large, if its a real issue it would be best to get your local CGTech Tech Support guy to take a look.
