How to set Machine origine and Work Offset?

hi, there,

1)I want to change the orgine point of the Machine coordinate system. Shall I go to Setup->Machine->Setting->Set Machine Zero? When I changed the value, the Xmch/Ymach/Zmch are still the same place. How can change the position?
2) I created the Work Offset in Setup->G-Code->Setting->Tables using G55 and G56. The X, Z value take into effect immeditely but the Y value never work. What's wrong?

Please give me your suggestions. Thanks.

David

Re: How to set Machine origine and Work Offset?

on question 1: have you pressed apply or ok on both the add/modify machine table screen and the machinesettings screen? And resetted the simulation.
Or is there a machine origin table present under G-code settings? This one will be processed if present otherwise VERICUT will search in machine settings.

Re: How to set Machine origine and Work Offset?

1) if you use the Machine Zero table, it will not change the display of the axis  Xmch/Ymach/Zmch. But to test if it is in effect, Setup > Control > MDI. without any offset in effect, type X0 Y0 Z0, the spindle face should go to the new machine zero.

2) the best way to define the work offset tables is to use the From/To function. Help > Training Sessions > Session 6.

Also make sure you do not have a G10 L2 in the program that would override the table values.

And like Alban said, always press Reset if you change the machine or control.
