Optipath - Turning

Hi folks,

I checked in the user forum and optipath is not available for turning yet...

What if we could apply optimization for air cuts at least... trochoidal turning is also becoming an important innitiative in Oil&Gas and round cutters are really subject to optimizations...

It can be very difficult to CGTech to jump into a full coverage of turning optimization now... but if we start at least with air cut removal it's something big already... and as the time goes by more situations can be covered by this module...

In O&G we machine cladded components, where part of the part is base metal (Carbon Steel) and portions of it are Inconel... so optimization here can really help alot...

I just think it's something new and innovative and no one is messing with this yet... but it's doable right? In times like these, where is hard to have an original/innovative idea for a product, Optipath for turning is one, IMHO.

Cheers,

Daniel

Re: Optipath - Turning

Agree,
Optimization in turning can be really beneficial, especially in turning larger diameters in hard materials (Inconel) (a 5mm air cut with 0,15 mm/rev at a OD of 2000 mm takes ages).
It might be a little late as more and more CAM systems start to introduce optimization in the CAM package witch might eliminate the need for optipath in the future.
