U Rotary attached to 5Axis

Hi all,

Currently, we have an OKK KCV100 5Axis machine with A & B rotate 35 deg. We just added an index rotary with U additional axis to this machine. It is easy to build a simple OKK 5Axis with A/B angle 35 deg in Vericut We have used this machine in Vericut for 5 years and nothing wrong with it. Now I got stuck to add another U axis. Is there anybody knows how to do this?

Thanks

Re: U Rotary attached to 5Axis

Which axis is carrying the new "U" axis ?

To add simply right click on the carrying axis and choose Append then U Linear

If this then carries the Attach/Fixture/Stock etc then cut/paste those onto the added U

Re: U Rotary attached to 5Axis

Thanks. I just got it. C rotary axis is carrying the new "U" axis. Here is another question. How does it recognize the new "U" axis instead of C Axis?

For example:

It will work if it is a C letter

X-0.9937 Y0 C180.
Z0.6503
G1 Z0.5503
X-0.7

===========

It does not work if it is a U letter

X-0.9937 Y0 U180.
Z0.6503
G1 Z0.5503
X-0.7

Re: U Rotary attached to 5Axis

You need to setup U to mean C-axis motion, currently it will be setup to be U axis motion

Re: U Rotary attached to 5Axis

Re: U Rotary attached to 5Axis

You need to go to Configuration > G-code Processing > Register and change the register U from UAxisMotion to CAxisMotion
