Re: water jet

Haven't done this, but I can imagine that you could define the water beam as a milling cutter. Make sure it gets an rpm by setting configure > setup > motion > Tool Spindle always on.

Re: water jet

Thanks for the suggestion PAEHV, however:
There is a waterjet tool that is available in the tool drop down and I can set the parameters to turn the water off/on.
But I can't seem to get the tool set right. it keeps giving me an error that says "Water Jet removing material beyond maximum distance ."
Or it will tell me that the nozzle is to close to the part.
any ideas anyone?

Re: water jet

I think - you need CME API application for measure distance from nozzle to cutting meterial for each motion.

Re: water jet

CME API - C or C++ application, see manual in folder hhhelp, development_tools.pdf.
You can write your own DLL, and for each point of toolpath calculate dist Nozzle<->Stock and send messages: "DIST TOO BIG!!" or "NOZZLE TOO CLOSE TO PART!!".

Re: water jet

I don't think there is need for CME-API in this case. The tool is probably designed in the opposite way? Try to reverse the Tool Component to be upside down when loaded in the spindle.
