Setting 'Initial Machine Location' in V7.x Project file

With Vericut versions through V6.x I could set up an "Initial Machine Location" table.

Menu -> Project -> Process Options -> G-Code -> Settings
- Select "Tables" tab
- - Click on "Add/Modify"
- - - Select "Initial Machine Location" from the Drop Down list for Table Name.

The "VERICUT70-menu-guide.pdf" simply states that the above 'settings' menu was removed.

Some of the tables appear in the Project Tree. But I cannot find "Initial Machine Location".

I've been at this NC stuff for 6 decades now and I know I'm getting a little senile so sombody please help me!

TIA

P.S. I know how to set up tables in the Machine file. I need to set it in the Project file on a per-setup basis.

Re: Setting 'Initial Machine Location' in V7.x Project file

Hi Jerry,

Sorry for the confusion, it surely wasn't our goal. The re-organization of the table is a contuniation of our effort to separate the machine settings from the project settings and therefore the duplication of menues.

The Initial Machine Location is part of the machine-specific settings:

Configuration > Machine Settings...
Locations tab

Re: Setting 'Initial Machine Location' in V7.x Project file

Serge,  Like I said, I know how to set up tables in the machine file.  I need to set up 'Initial Position'  in a project file as the initial setup may have to be different on a job by job basis.  Still can't figure it out for V7.x.x.  It needs to be there.  Might have to be an enhancement request to undo the deletion of a needed option .

You can use the Base Work Offset on the project side, it will be on by default like the Initial Machine Location and the current Work Offsets or Program Zero table will be added to it.

Re: Setting 'Initial Machine Location' in V7.x Project file

Using a Base Work Offset does NOT change the Initial Machine Location.  It only comes into effect to modify all Offsets after the program has started, which is not what we need.  We need to change the Initial Machine Location on a per Setup basis in the Project Files, just like we could in V6.x.x.  Many of the V7.x.x Sample Project Files have an Initial Machine Location table.  We need to be able to modify it as needed without having to manually edit the vcproject file with a text editor.  We just need the same functionality that we have and use with previous Vericut versions.

Re: Setting 'Initial Machine Location' in V7.x Project file

Jerry,

You can define/override the "Initial Machine Location" from menu Project > G-Code > Advanced Setting..., in the Overrides tab select "Machine Locations", select "Initial Machine Location" from the list then "Add"...
This will Override the table in Machine Settings if exist and it will be save in your Project file.
You can also use the corresponding Icon "G-Code Advanced Setting" to access this configuration window.
