Jobs worked before update

Hey everyone. I just upgraded my Vericut to v7.1.1, and I really like some of the new features. All except one of my machines are working beautifully.

The problem is that the machine that is not working used to work ok, before I updated my software. Fortunately, I saved my v7.0.3 files so I can still use it, but I would like to be able to use all of my machines in one version.

The problem is that my machine (Deckel Maho DMG 60T with a somewhat modified heimplus control) no longer calls the pickup properly. The only thing I changed was updating the software, I'm using the same control and machine as before, both of which are saved on my hard drive and should not have been affected by the update. My assumption is that some macro changed between the two versions, which is now causing my G54 to call the pickup in the wrong place.

Any ideas?

TIA
-Mike

Re: Jobs worked before update

Hi Mike,

The Part-Side vs. Tool-Side logic has been reworked in V71x.

Prior V7.1 during pick-up operations the Stock changes from a component to another and thus changing how the positive direction for the parent component. In the component tab we had:
Disable Auto Direction
Reverse Direction.

In V7.1 during initialization, VERICUT can auto-calculate partside at startup, or you can tell VERICUT whether this is partside or not.  At this point, the directions of the axis are set.  They will not change during pick-up operation.
In the component tab we now have:
Part Side (Auto, Yes, No)
Reverse Direction.

Normally there is logic in place to automatically convert the machine files but a few configurations will not work. So you might visit the axis component and change the values. For your information the auto conversion is as follow:

---------------Pre-V7.1 -------------------------------V7.1

Disable Auto Direction not checked----------Part Side = Auto
Reverse Direction not checked---------------Reverse Direction not checked

Disable Auto Direction not checked----------Part Side = Auto
Reverse Direction checked--------------------Reverse Direction checked

Disable Auto Direction checked--------------Part Side = Yes
Reverse Direction not checked--------------Reverse Direction checked

Disable Auto Direction checked--------------Part Side = Yes
Reverse Direction checked-------------------Reverse Direction not checked
