Interpolation Issues

Hey all. I am having problems running my Deckel Maho DMC 60T w/MillPlus IT control through v7.0.3. When I was still running v6.1.2, it worked fine, and was pretty close to dead on. Now however, among other issues, it seems I can't get the X, Y, and Z axes to interpolate properly. I've got them all with a priority of 1, with the interpolate box checked for both (+) and (-). In my control, I have each axis set for XAxisMotion, YAxisMotion, and ZAxisMotion respectively. The problem is that since the X and Y are moving together, and the Z is moving seperately, there are crashes that are being missed when the Simulation dodges the cutter around the part, instead of through it like it should. I don't know if maybe the update to v7.0.3 messed something up, or reset something, or what, but everything was fine until the upgrade.

Any help would be hugely appreciated

TIA

-mike

Re: Interpolation Issues

Mike,

I imagine that you are in G00 (Rapid).

Make sure you are pointing at the right machine. The Library machine (from the VERICUT CD) has the axes on 2 priorities: for a move up, it moves Z, B and C first and then X and Y. For a move down, it moves X and Y first and then Z, B and C.

Double check by:
Configuration > Machine Settings... Axis Priority tab.
or
Infor File Summary (to see where the Project looks for its machine file)

Re: Interpolation Issues

Serge,

Yes, I am in Rapid... also, the machine I'm using is the same one I've used for the past year. It isn't from the Veicut library, and I'm not sure who built it...

On that note, what is the difference between a Deckel Maho DMC 60T, and a DMU 60T? Just curious...

I tried switching the priorities around to make all the axes arrive at the specified location at the same time, and without any dogleg moves, but so far, it's still not working...

Any other ideas?

I already sent a message to Tech Support, and I'm waiting to hear back from them, but I figured I'd check the Forum as well.

Thanks
