Turning tool generates error

I am getting an error at the bottom of the screen that says: Error: Insert of the tool "3" is off turning plane while attempting to cut stock at line 867.
I am not sure why I am getting this error.  What is "off turning plane"

The tool (insert) volume seems to going in the correct direction, in terms of the plane.
There are other tools that are cutting in that same plane and the volume of the material on the insert is extruded the same way from the plane.
Any help is appreciated.

Regards,
Robert

Re: Turning tool generates error

Turning tools must be in the ZX plane to remove material, or at Y0.

Look at Info > Status to see if there is any values in Y.
Look in Tool manager, is the plane located at Y0?

Re: Turning tool generates error

I am just getting my feet wet with Vericut and am having the same problem trying to set up a lathe. I checked the status and there were no values in the Y. The tool manager indicated that the tool I am trying to use is at Y zero. However when I use MDI to look at the lathe (normal to the XY plane) it's obvious that the insert top is slightly below the lathe axis.

I'm not sure how to approach tool set up. What is the right way to get the insert tip at the right height (XZ plane level)?

What does it mean when I get "Driven Point offset: 2, was not found" ? How do I set up tool offsets?

I'm attaching (hopefully) a screen shot of the simple lathe I'm trying to set up.
