Probing on DMG

Hey all. I have here a Deckel Maho DMC 60 T with a MillPlus-IT control. Until now, we've been sort of fudging along, with the probe routines running fine and dandy on the machine, but when I try to run them through Vericut, all kinds of things happen, none of which is probing. I do have the Probing license, and on my other machines (Mazak Variaxis, Nexus, and Integrex) it works fine. Now the Probe Guy wants to try his hand at the Deckel, and so we want to be able to run it through Vericut first, so we don't break a lot of expensive stuff. Unfortunately, the MillPlus control is so different from the Mazaks that I have absolutely NO idea where to begin to set this up. Right now, we're sort of winging it trial-and-error style, but if we could get the probing to work properly that would be sweet.

Any ideas?       :?

Hi,

I don't know how typical line in the NC-code with probing looks in a MillPlus-IT control.
However in our Deckel machines with Siemens 840D controls, with probe cycles like CYCLE977, CYCLE978, I have studied the Siemens manuals and rewritten all subroutines. Rewritten in this case means to reduce the cycle to the required input values and to give the correct output. Way too many variables in the original sub-file are not of interest for simulation and not meaningful to give values.

So in our controls most often a subroutine call is enough. The sub routine then contains a command for activating the probe, all moves based on input variables and finally writes the output variables.

Perhaps this is a way to go with the MillPlus ?

Hello!
I have a little experience for probing with DMU 125P in VERICUT. Unfortunately, I cannot find exact MACRO for TOUCH PROBE cycles and I write my own CME API MACRO for some cases.

Of course, you can write subroutine for probing and calculate inside sub Any thickness, diameters and other.

We've done some probe routines on TNC530i but not seen any MillPlus, are they the same?
