Bizarre machine motion

So I opened a job on my Deckel Maho today, and to my surprise, when I tried to run the job, at all the rotations, the part and table would stay stationary, and the machine rotated around the part. I believe it is cutting the appropriate shapes, however it makes it a little difficult to see what is actually happening when the whole machine won't hold still.

Any thoughts?

thanks

Re: Bizarre machine motion

the bolts holding the machine to the floor could have rusted away  lol

But, more probable is that the view is attached to the wrong component. In your machine view, right-click
Attach Component, select Base.

Now the machine is bolted back to the floor.

I have use that feature on demo simulations, I created a separate axis system (XYZAB) with a component called Camera to which I attached the view. I would MDI the camera around the machine to change the point of view automatically during the simulation.

But in real life, it is sometime useful to attach the view to the tool and follow it inside the part as it cuts.

Re: Bizarre machine motion

Lol, thanks serge. You were right, the bolts were rusted. But I tried that camera idea anyway, just for giggles, and it seems to have taken care of the problem.

Thanks again!
