Looking for information

I am currently not a vericut user. I was told to gather information. What I am looking for is measured savings, in terms of toolpath optimizing and tool life, especially in a very short run type atmosphere, that would help justify the purchase? I understand the path verification for toolpath collisions, but I was instructed to get more information but without ever using the software it is had to give that type of savings a measure. Thanks in advance for any help.

Regards,

Charles.

Re: Looking for information

Disclaimer: I work for CGTech, but here is what I have seen from experience, I hope other users can chime in their experience.

Depending on your programs, your machine capability and the output from your CAM software, the saving can be anywhere from 10% to 50% in machining time, but I have seen the average between 20-35%.

You can then calculate the saving:
http://cgtech.com/usa/calculate-your-optipath-savings/

saving 20% on 1 machine ($100 per hour) will save you $26400 yearly just from the machining time.

From the test I have done in customer shops, I have seen a lot of gain in tool life, specially in harder material.
