Duocore or Quadcore for Vericut

I read a help to Vericut impact on processor performance:

Multiple processors — VERICUT runs 10-20% faster on computers with dual
processors over a comparable computer with a single processor.

Something has changed with the QuadCore processor?
Has a greater influence on the rate Vericut higher CPU frequency?

I realize that everything is limited by the specific situation but it is preferable to take QuadCore but with lower frequency(Intel® Core™ 2 Extreme Quad Core QX9300) or Dualcore with higher frequency(Intel® Core™ 2 Extreme X9100)?

I have done a quick search on the internet and found this:

This site compared a 3.0Ghz Dual Core vs. a 2.4 Ghz Quad Core with various applications
