building new machine from scratch, cannot use models

Alright, let me give you a backstory.
At my last company, we had purchased all the bells and whistles for vericut. there was nothing we couldn't do. wink

Now at my current company, we only have the verification and multiaxis license. Nothing else.

I am trying to build a machine and I want to add models in for visualization only however, when I try to add a model to the component tree, nothing happens and the logger returns "Error - unable to check out feature VC_MACHSIM"

I understand that I need a machine sim license to verify a machine, that is not my goal. i simply want to see the machine so I know my stock and fixtures are in the right place.

Is this normal? you cannot even add visual models to a machine without a machine sim license?

Thanks,
Jay

Re: building new machine from scratch, cannot use models

You can manually edit the .mch file, but to use the interactive UI you need the license.  At least that is the way it was way back when we started building our own machines without a Machine Sim license.  Much easier with the license to debug and tweak it in. but it can be done with notepad.  I still do some work that way.  It didn't take us long to build the cost justification for the Machine Sim license.
