Wanted to introduce myself.

Hello
I just wanted to introdue myself.  I'm a cnc programmer for a New York aircraft company.  I graduate from college a couple of years ago, after working out in the "real world " for 15 years.  I absolutely love this profession.  We just got Vericut about a month and a half ago and I'm really starting to get into it now.  I've been to the training classes out in Dayton with Ely, but that was back in October.  I found out about this site from the mastercam forum site.  I'm hoping that this forum is as helpful as the mastercam forum.  I'm looking forward to talking to and sharing information with anyone who wants to.

Thanks

Joey

Re: Wanted to introduce myself.

Welcome to the community Joey!

Thank you for your introduction. The forum is still in its infancy but I believe it will be resource for VERICUT users for years to come.

Thus far, this forum has been used primarily for getting answers to specific technical questions. That is fantastic, but I also think it would be interesting if some of you were to share how you are using VERICUT (without sharing any of your company’s proprietary information, of course). I know you guys come up with some ingenious ways of using the software and there is a great deal to learn from each other. As I’m sure you can imagine, VERICUT would not be the tool that it is today without all the valuable feedback we get from all of you.

Happy Posting--
Bryan

Re: Wanted to introduce myself.

Hi Joey,
I was in that class too.  I work for Aircraft Braking Systems in Akron, Ohio.  Since October I have spent most of my time at work building machines and controls in Vericut, and using Catia to make the necessary models of machine components and tools.  It is a pretty fun way to make a living.

Re: Wanted to introduce myself.

Hi Al and Bryan.  How's it going.  We just got Vericut about two months ago and I'm just really getting into it.  I've built a couple of machines and I'm working on a 5th axis right now.  Things have been pretty crazy around here.  The deeper I get the more questions I get.

Al, I don't remember getting your name from class.  Where did you sit, if you don't mind me asking.

Re: Wanted to introduce myself.

Joey,
I was in the back row, next to the coffee pot.

Re: Wanted to introduce myself.

Al,
I remember you now.  I sat second row all the way to the right.  I hope things are going well for you.

Yes,
I thought that's who you are.
Going good here, I have been fortunate to have the time to dedicate to Vericut, but today it looks like I'll be busy in the shop.
