Issues with multiple setups in version 6

I have two problems that are possible related.

1 - when creating multiple setups and I do not rename them to all have unique names, only the last setup with same name remains after exiting and reloading. In other words, if I create 3 setups that are named setup 1, after saving the project, exiting Vericut, then restarting Vericut and reloading the project, only one setup remains which is the last of the three with the same name.

2 - In the above example I used 3 setups with the same name to get undesirable results.  Now try it with 4 setups with the same name. When restarting the VcProject, Vericut will hard lock with a message in the logger stating "OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space". Only way to exit is to kill Vericut through the task manager.

I don't remember either of these problems in past releases of VC6. Today is the first time I ran into this. I guess after the weekend my memory lapsed a bit and I kept forgetting to rename each new setup.

Both examples are easily reproduced on my machine (Dell Precision 650 - dual Xeon 3.2Ghz processors and 2GB memory). Software bug??

Oh yea, I'm running version 6.0.1

Re: Issues with multiple setups in version 6

I,m getting an out of memory JAVA HEAP SPACE message on Vers. 6.2
The only component loaded at the time is the tool manager database
There are about 100 tools in the database
Shutting down Vericut and reloading it cures the problem for about 10 minutes
then reoccurs whilst I am working on the tool database.
I have noticed that when the problem occurs Task Manager shows 'javaw.exe using
approx 275,000k but when I reload it drops to 86,000k.
My PC uses twin 64bit processors with 8GB ram on board and Nvidia graphics card.

Hi Dan,

It sounds like one of your tools has a problem.  Look for gaps in profiles or crossing the centerline.  You can
send the Tool Library file in to us and we'll take a look at it.
