Note: You only need to try this if you are experiencing random exits. In general VERICUT 6.2 functions correctly as delivered on Windows XP64 on a variety of hardware configurations.
Problem:
VERICUT 6.2 on Windows XP64 randomly exits or exits every time opening the file selection dialog to browse for a file.
Description:
One of the following happens:
a)VERICUT randomly exits while being used
b)VERICUT exits every time the file selection dialog is opened to browse for a file.
There is no message or any indication of what is causing the problem.
Solution:
Replace the Java Run-time (JRE) version 1.5 files distributed with VERICUT 6.2 with JRE 1.6.
Steps:
(assumes VERICUT is installed in c:\cgtech62; your install may differ)
1. Rename c:\cgtech62\windows64\jre folder to jre-1.5 .
2. Download the following zip file: http://download.cgtech.com/public/jre_xp64.zip
3. Unzip the file to c:\cgtech62\windows64. Unzipping should automatically create a new jre folder and sub-folders.
That’s it. You can verify you are using the newer JRE by running VERICUT and looking at Help > About VERICUT
Please post here if you are having this problem and whether or not this fixed it.

Dave,
Unless you experience the crashes, there are no needs to upgrade. I still have the JRE installed with 6.2 (1.5.0_06 ) and have no problems.
