License server Problem under Windows XP64

The following license server communication problem was encountered at a customer site. We could not reproduce the problem, but the following solution seems to have worked for this customer. IPX/SPX protocol does not typically cause a problem for VERICUT license client/server communications, and is not used.

Problem:
Installing VERICUT 6.1.2 on a windows XP64.

“Configure License and Setup Server“ is not able to Add the license on the running server

The following error is shown:
“Sentinel RMS Development Kit: Error [0xc8001008]: Unable to talk to host “server name”. Communication problems??”

Solution:

After removing “NWLink IPX/SPX/NetBios Compatible Transport Protocol” from the network device that the license was locked to (the Host ID), the server setup procedure was able to add licenses to the license server. Contact your network administrator before changing any network settings.
