AUTO-DIFF

Is it possible to use an in process file with AUTO-DIFF.
I have a die that we rough mill in the soft state and then we finish mill after heat treat.
I created a in process cut after the roughing and open that to run the finishing program. When I run AUTO-DIFF can check for gouges  I have none, But when I check for excess stock I get the following report.

AUTO-DIFF Solid Report

Comparison Type: Excess
Excess Tolerance: 0.015

DESIGN COMPONENT(S):

Component Name: Design
Component Type: Design
Model Type: STL (M:\VeriCut\Mikron_VCP600\mfg14264-design.stl)

SUMMARY:
AUTO-DIFF found 25282 errors. First 5000 error records are displayed in the table.

Maximum excess of 7.973749 occured at record 16549
Number of Excesses: 5000

I seems like AUTO-DIFF does not see the design part.
Any thoughts.

Thanks
Ed

The DSN must be visable in the work piece view
when you run autodiff, can you display the dsn?
is it in the correct place?

Can you x-caliper dist / stk/ dsn?

Re: AUTO-DIFF

Dave

Thanks for the suggestion.

I did find even though the project tree showed a design part that was visible, I couldn't see it.
Turns out the design STL model was junk.

Thanks
