Siemens PLM (the people formerly known as UGS) have changed their license mechanism for NX/Open (formerly UG/Open) applications in NX5. This change prevents the NX-to-VERICUT interface (formerly UG-to-VERICUT interface) from working with NX5.
We need to modify our application to work with this new license scheme. The change will be implemented in the VERICUT 6.2 release, likely available early in 2008.
The current interface, delivered with VERICUT 6.1, continues to work in NX4 as long as you have access to a UFUNC_EXECUTE license in NX. The UFUNC_EXECUTE license is grandfathered in NX4, and retired in NX5.
For technical info see (if you can find them) Siemens documents:

We had a couple of customers report that the NX2-built version of our interface works fine on NX5. This is what we delivered with VERICUT 6.1.x. We also finally received and installed NX5 and successully used the UGV interface delivered with VERICUT 6.1.2.
These initial tests were only done on Windows XP. I assume that VERICUT 6.1.2's NX4 interface for Windows XP64 will work with NX5 on Windows XP64 as well.
So we are now confused by the information supplied by Siemens's PLM, which says we have to change our NX-Open product in order for it to work.
I'll update this post as we discover more.
