Please explain how Vericuts STEP converter is different

I see Vericut has a STEP converter.
I did not know that before

Please explain how Vericuts STEP converter is different.
Is if better for creating STL files than UG, or Catia, or other?

Thanks

Hi Dave,

It may not answer all your questions, but did you see this page on the CGTech website?

Thanks,

Re: Please explain how Vericuts STEP converter is different

Dave,
We had the .step model interface for awhile. I was attempting to eliminate conversions errors with the .stl output from Pro/E. I never had much luck with it, though that might have been due to the large size of my files. ( >12mb).
I sent a sample to CGTech and they never really solved the issue. It took them 3 hours to load my .step file. I traded the .step interface for the ACIS (.sat) interface and we've been happy with the results. It takes a while (10 minutes) to load the initial file, but afterwards you get many less false gouges. We use nothing but .sat files for design models now and it has made life easier for that part of VC at least.

Thanks for the reply Eric.

Looks like I have a few more stones to unturn.
I am not familiar with  ACIS

Our goal is the same..... less false gouges. best accuracy

We are using Catia V5
