In addition, have the collision reports list the names of the components involved in the collision.   Something similar to the way the specific part of the tool is reported with collision/cutting errors currently.

I guess Vericut with Auto-Diff and OptiPath options cut a little to deep into budget. (no pun intended) :cry:

I have used Vericut since 1990
we got machine simulator a few years back.

we have found that not all parts, machine sim is needed. if it is a 5-axis part with only 3 deg of tilt , your not really in danger of a collision.

i really come in handy on machines with rotary tables, where the part moves, on machines with nutating heads, and all machines when we stick in 90 deg heads.

You get the right kind of part, and  machine simulation pays for itself in one job.
