What control is better for High Speed Machining ?

What control is better for Hi Speed Machining, Siemens 840d, or Fanuc 300is, fidia or what else?  :?

we are looking at retrofitting some old machines, so I am interested in opinions from those using theses controls for Hi Speed Machining.

My number 1 criteria to measure "better", is speed with accuracy
run the same machine faster, for better cycle time. Controls have different positioning / contouring modes, that take out the hesitations in point to point, but accuracy suffers.

My number 2 criteria to measure "better", operator friendly / features
training, learning curve.

My number 3 criteria to measure "better", is building posts, and Vericut control files. since building posts is "non recurring" , I don't weight that that much.

I now have new arrivals, of both. A new machine OKK KCV100, and some retrofits, of Cincinnati 3 spindle gantries, with the 840D's.

I am taking baby step, because of the horror stories I have heard about spline interpolation violating geometry.

Not going to use spline until I get formal training.

Thanks in advance
Dave
