STEP

Hi
has anyone bought and used the new step model interface for vericut? How do you like it? can you get better results in comparison?
does vericut run better since you no longer have the triangles of a stl to compute?
thanks

Re: STEP

Greif,
We had the interface for awhile and I had issues with it. I couldn't get VC to bring in a large .step file (>10mb).
I traded it for the ACIS (.sat) interface and am much happier with that. It takes about 5-10 minutes to bring in a large .sat file but after that it is smooth. It eliminated a lot of the false gouges and accuracy issues we had due to .stl file triangles..
