It would be very useful if there was an option when defining Turning tools to use the inscribed circle instead of the cutting edge length as the basis of the definition.
Although the cutting edge length is called out in tool catalogue codes,
eg. TNGA 16 04 08....This 16 does not relate to the actual edge length, instead it relates to an inscribed circle of 9.525 resulting in a measured edge length of 16.489.
Therefore the inscribed cirlce is much easier to access when defining tools from a catalogue.

When defining "inch" inserts you are prompted for inscribed diameter in inches or 1/8ths. For "mm" inserts you are prompted for edge length. Guess we didn't look at enough catalogues.
Incidentally, I was born in Breadsall and raised in Littleover.

I have been coming across this problem a lot lately not just with triangular inserts. Would it be possible to enter an enhancement request for this functionality if it has not already been addressed?
