Tool Holder Collision on Vericut 6.04

Hello Support team smile
I am running Vericut 6.04 and for some reason, when I have a tool holder collision, it does not remove any stock material  :? and just show a red color in the top of the point where had the collision. In release 5.4, to show the tool holder collision material removal, is necessary to disable the option "tool fixture collision only" in setup, motion, however I didn´t found the same option on Vericut 6.04. Could CGtech team please help me as soon as possible?

Thank you very much

Re: Tool Holder Collision on Vericut 6.04

Hello Daniel,

Your observation is correct, in VERICUT 6.0, the holders do not remove material anymore. The area of the collision is marked in red and the error is reported in the log file and in th message area.

The benefit is that if another collision occurs in the same area, it will also be reported. In 5.4, once the holder removed the material it was gone and no more collisions could be detected on that area.

The change also applies with the collisions with the fixtures. The material is also not longer removed. This had a positive impact on the performance for very large fixtures.

In the X-Caliper window, there is an icon at th top that allow you to see the volume removed by the holder. In that mode, you can measure the thickness of the gouge.

To test it quickly, run th first cutter in vericut.vcproject, open X-Caliper, click on the icon (Display Tool/Stock collision). You will see the volume removed by the non-cutting center of the tool while ramping in the part.

Hello Fast Serge !!!

I did the test as you recommended. Perfect! Is really possible to see the amount of material that was removed at the collision point, even after the final of machining simulation.

Thank you and Best Regards from Brazil

With V5 and under, there is a option you can turn On or Off this feature.
I prefer this option, So I have more control over it than V6.
