Does anyone know if there is a place on the web where machines can be uploaded or downloaded? I don't want to waste time measuring/modeling our machine if someone has already done the work.

i think you should call the model from the machine company!

I have asked the machine maker. They said it's propritary, and won't give it up.

What machine do you need ???
There might be a member already having it.
BTW, I was always able to get a STEP file of the machine from the company, since we have bought it already.
I have to submit the serial number of the machine and return a signed form, that I won't give the data to a third party.

First place to look is in the machines supplied with VERICUT.
File > Open
Shortcut = Showroom
look in the left, you will see a list of sub-folders under Showroom with manufacturers names:
-DMG
-Fadal
-Hass
-Hermle
-Makino
-Mazak
-Mori Seiki
-Motch
-Okuma
These are nice, well defined machines that would be a good startup.
The goal is to add more and more machines to this list in future releases
