For some reason, sometimes when I open my ip file, my part doesn't display. All I see is a wireframe block.
And if I autodiff, no gouges are reported.
Other times, I open the same ip file and the design does display and when I autodiff, gouges do show in the report and are displayed.
Does anyone know what causes this or how to fix it? I have sent programs to the shop thinking they were checked but they weren't. :x

Am I the only one having this problem?
Sometimes I open the job and I see one of the STL's only has one face and the rest of the solid is missing. And sometimes parts of the machine are missing.
I close it and open it again and sometimes the missing pieces show up. If they don't load right, I try opening it on another computer and then usually all the STL's show up.
I have a feeling this might be a graphics problem, but I'm surprised it effects my autodiff results.
Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Weird. I have never seen anything like this.
I know sometimes with IP files, if some files are deleted or renamed that the IP is looking for, problems can arise.
Do you get any errors in the log or logger?
what Version?
did you do a design consistency check?

Hey Dave, thanks for the response. I hoped someone else had seen this problem.
I've moved on to another project but next time I see the problem, I will check the logs and do the design consistancy check.
I'm using 6.05 now.

I started a new project. Saved the project with a part stl and a fixture stl.
Closed it and opened it. The part and the fixture only show as small wireframe boxes. I even tried to load the part stl again. Nuthin.
No errors in the status line or in the log file.
I tried doing a design consistancy check from within autodif, but since I don't have cut stock, it didn't work.
Any sugestions?

Is there a procedure to make sure I send all of the required files including the machine and control and tls files?
Offline
Yes,
Info > File Summary gives you a list of all the files used.
on the top-right corner there is an icon that looks like a pile of diskettes (Copy All File)
copy all the files to a temporary folder, zip them, ship them
