Cannot add licenses to 6.0 license server. 5.4 works ok.

Problem

After updating from 5.4 to 6.0, it is not possible to add licenses to the 6.0 license server. Typically Update License, which uses 'lslic', or WlmAdmin displays Error[19] "Cannot Add License" when trying to add licenses.

Cause

The Host ID (ethernet address of network adaptor) is not found by the SentinelLM 8.0.0 license server. The server will not add licenses if it cannot verify the locking criteria of the license key. SentinelLM 7.2 (delivered with VERICUT 5.4) is able to find the Host ID and add the licenses.

In SentinelLM 8.0, SafeNet changed the method used by the server to find the Host ID. The change generally improves the behavior of the license server, so it now works with multiple network adaptors and with disconnected devices.

However, it appears that some network adaptors that worked with 7.2 now fail with 8.0. So far, only Token-Ring devices appear to fail. The problem may be limited to this.

Solution
Find another computer with an Ethernet - TCP/IP device, or add an Ethernet device to the existing license server computer. A new license is needed, locked to the new Ethernet device.
