VERICUT 5.4 Solid files containing history information do not work in 6.0. We have completed a method to make them compatible in 6.0.1. VERICUT 5.x Solid files saved without history work correctly.
The history information in a 5.4 VERICUT Solid file is not transferred to VERICUT 6.0. The missing information causes 2 problems:
1. Pressing Play or Step can take much longer if the history information is not available.
2. Subsequently saving a VERICUT Solid file from 6.0 creates a file that cannot be opened again in 6.0.
In 6.0.1 we do an automatic conversion to update the history data from 5.4 to 6.0's internal format. This conversion happens when the VERICUT Solid file is opened in 6.0 (either via Model Definition or by opening a VERICUT user or project file).
VERICUT displays the following message when the file is read:
Updating 5.4 VERICUT Solid file ?nnnn.vct?. Previous holder collisions will be removed when simulation starts.
As noted by the message, any holder collisions present in the 5.4 VERICUT solid file are removed when the Cut Stock is created in 6.0.1 by pressing Play or Step. This was necessary due to changes in VERICUT tool and holder collision logic which made 5.4 holder collision information invalid in 6.0.
Sorry for the trouble,
Bill
