RAPID feedrate time calculation

Where do I set the machine's RAPID feed value so that I will get accurate cutting times?  The machine is 2000 ipm in rapid.  I tried changing the value in the Setup>Motion>Fast Feed  but it had no impact on the calculated time.  Or is it in the Control>Settings>Motion tab?

Re: RAPID feedrate time calculation

It is done in the machine axis definition.  The max feed, rapid setting etc is done for each moving axis.

Go to model, component tree and pick an axis.  It is under component attributes.

For more accurate times you need to set the Acceleration/Deceleration values.  I could explain the math, but it is easier to time a part on a machine and run it in Vericut and then adjust the Acell/Decel values until you are close.   You can get close, but not exact for each job since machines have Rapid Acell/Decel and Feed based Acell/Decel which are vastly different.  Vericut only has Acell/Decel setting for both Rapid and Feed.
