Hi,
I'm cutting a fairly intricate detailed part using cutters as small
as Ø0.008",the resultant cut stock I get looks more like it had been cut with a plough.
What do I have to tighten up to get a realistic cut stock return?

Interesting.
I see what you mean.
I am playing with boring_bar.usr
I changed tool 1 to a .010 dia drill
The hole looks like a stop sign, before I started playing with file properties
after adjusting, the hole looks bitchen
I set file properties cutting tolerance to .0004,
and Model tolerance to.001
Based on stock size
I used 6.12
the best I was able to get on 5.4.5 was .0008 cutting tolerance
and the image was not nearly as good
So... it looks like availability of more ram, and newer software makes a differance
I will post a picture of the .020 dia hole soon
Let me know if those settings help
and what version of vericut.
you may not be able to set cutting tolerance that tight, depending on your computer, and operating system.

Hi Dave,Using 6.11
We've yet to upgrade.
I'll try your advised settings and let you know.
So 6.12 you found an improvement?
Have you noticed any other improvements with 6.12?

Yes, It solved a problem where Autodif ran out of memory, on a 80 x 120 x 10 bulkhead.
You can check out release notes to see all the fixes
