I am programming a Tosnuc 888 control on a Toshiba horizontal mill. Data output commands (messages you print while probing) are limited to 16 characters or less. Of course these are entered manually and I may forget to count, especially if I'm editing old code.
Is there a way to check the program format to make sure that the number of characters isn't exceeded? Here are 3 typical messages:
[OT,6(P/N 12345678 )] where OT is Output Text, 6 is the port and everything in parentheses will be printed.
[OT,6(X ACTUAL DIM),VX[34], (Y ACTUAL DIM ),VY[34]] prints labels and variables.
[OT,6(P/N 12345678 REV.A)] fails due to too many characters.

There is a new feature (I think it is starting with V6.2 ) that has some format checking. I have not had the chance to use it yet, but this may be what you are looking for.
