Hi all
I have veri-cut and mastercam, I need a video card suited for both packages. I'm currently looking at the nvidia quadro fx 4000. Has anyone tried this card? Does anyone have any recommendations ?

CGTech does no specific testing of graphics card models. From a software development point-of-view, VERICUT is many layers removed from the physical hardware. Standing between VERICUT and the hardware are (in order): the device driver, the operating system, and java run-time. If you are using Machine Simulation with an "Accelerated" view, then OpenGL sits between the operating system and java run-time.
VERICUT's graphics implementation is not specific to any graphics card and uses standard java methods to draw. So we are dependent on a "chain" of software and hardware products that ultimately display VERICUT's image on the screen.
CGTech is a development partner with the "big 3" Windows graphics card manufacturers: nVidia, ATI, and 3D Labs. This facilitates us reporting problems to them so they can update their drivers, and so we can get advanced versions of their drivers for testing. These manufacturers have done a good job consolidating drivers so we have less variables to deal with.
We have a few representative products from each manufacturer. But these cards are frequently "retired" from the marketplace within weeks/months of our purchase. However we do try to keep at least one "current" model, where "current" means it uses the latest released driver.
