hello everybody,
i'm new to vericut and this forum as well. i'm using v6.0.2 and i have two questions:
1. how do i get vericut to render Z strokes or pecks while single stepping in a drill cycle?
currently, vericut renders to the R plane and shows the results of the cycle, but does not show any Z strokes or pecks.
2. in the workpiece window, there is a turquoise color wire frame box which bounds either the fixturing or the stock whenever the rendering stops.
is there a way to disable this? it's just gets annoying after awhile.
that's it...for now.
thanks

Hi JimV,
Welcome to the forum and to VERICUT.
1. check if your simulation is set to view all cycle motions or the bottom only.
In the Project Tree, highlight Setup:1, right-click, Motion...
Drill Cycle = Full Motion (other options are Ignore and Bottom Only)
It could also be a cycle configuration in the VERICUT control file.
2) you can close the Project Tree during the simulation. You can always open it as needed with the right-click menus in the graphic area

hey Serge,
thanks for your reply. your answer to question#2 works fine, thanks.
for question#1, the Drill Cycle = Full Motion, i had already tried these settings and didn't get the effect i was looking for. i'm guessing now that Vericut is doing exactly what it's suppose to be doing and that's simulating exactly what's happening on the machine. single stepping in our cam system lets you step through every motion of a pecking cycle. if this can't be done in Vericut, it's no big deal, but if it can be done, i'd be interested on knowing how.
p.s. Serge, you also said "It could also be a cycle configuration in the VERICUT control file." is that the Configuration menu, Control Setting..., Cycles tab? am i in the right spot? if so, i'm not sure what changes i need to make here. please help.
thanks again Serge for your time, i appreciate it.

The ability to Step only allows you to step one block (or line in the NC Program) at a time. When you press Step, everything on the line is executed. Sorry.
I often use Analysis > NC Program Review to analyse the cycles. You can step back and run them slow with the animation slide.
From your first question, I was in the impression that the pecking wasn't simulated at all. In that case, it could be that the word defining the pecking amount is not defined in the Word/Address section.
