Program time in Vericut.

How accurate is the time in Vericut?

If I remember correctly it's pretty close.

Thanks,
Joey

Re: Program time in Vericut.

There are some things you can use to improve the time calculations.

When simulating G-code you can define the used time for certain operations.
for instance a pallet change. When you clock the pallet change time on your machine, you can at this into the controller by using the macro DWELLMACRO with your time as overide value.

When running the machine at high feedrates, the time calculation ussually drifts away from reality, due to (ac/de)celerations. I have not tried the acc/dec parameters on the machine components, but this might bring you even more close to real machining time.

Re: Program time in Vericut.

Yes, you can get good time calculation if the acc/dec parameters are correctly set in the component attributes of each axes. AND don't forget to check the box 'Apply Acceleration to Cycle Time' under Project > Processing options > G-Code > Settings... (Or double click on the Control inthe project tree).
Also time for toolchange can be more accurate if you add a 'Tool Chain' component (if machine has one!) because more parameters are possible with this component (After 'Tool Chain' component has been added go to the component attributes and select the Toolchain Parameters...)

Re: Program time in Vericut.

Where do I get the correct acc/dec parameters?

I got a couple of haas'

Are they in the machine parameters out on the floor?
