display problem

Evening all

Here’s my dilemma,

Awhile back (6-8 months) my vericut (Vericut 5.4.3 ) was working fine until I was showing the new guy how to use vericut.  He signed in on my pc and opened up vericut and the menus were all screwed up.  (See picture) The word menu is in front of all the words in the toolbar and if you expand the menus those it will put the option name in front of all the words. (Again see the picture).

Well I called vericut and talked to Ely. We couldn't figure out the problem.
Finally my IT guy loaded an old profile of mine and it seemed to fix the problem on my pc.  He tried doing that with the new guy and it wouldn't work for him. :?

The other day my profile got messed up again and now the problem has returned.  We tried doing the same thing as before but it isn't working.

Functionally it works fine but it does make it extremely difficult to use.

I'm hoping someone out there has an answer or at least some suggestions.

Thanks
Joey

Re: display problem

The user configuration files for Vericut are in Documents and Settings\login-name\cgtech_xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
Delete/rename these files and then start Vericut and see what happens.

Also check the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\ directory and if any of the cgtech_xxxxxxx files exist there, delete them.

Re: display problem

vhubbard,

We tried that and it didn't change anything.  Thanks anyway.
Do you have any other ideas?

Re: display problem

We tried that before and it didn't work but I'll pass this on to our IT guy.

Thanks

Re: display problem

This same thing happened when I upgraded from 6.0 to 6.0.1, along with Vericut crashing when I tried to do anything, but I restarted and it worked fine after that, works fine now.  Deleting everything and re-installing it can't hurt

Re: display problem

Double click Vericut to start too quickly!

Change the mouse response speed.

If you right click Vericut icon and chose open to run Vericut, This thing will never happen.

Re: display problem

I tried that and it still does it.

We tried reloading the software and that doesn't help either.

Can't figure it out.
The only thing I know is that it makes it quite cumbersome to use the software.

Re: display problem

Does this behavior change depending on permissions of the user who is logged on ?

Have seen this before in an company who's computer permissions were locked down very tightly, an administrator on the same computer could use Vericut no problem.

Re: display problem

Copy the file VcRes.local from C:\cgtech6??\classes\english to the directory specified by the variable %HOMEDRIVE%%HOMEPATH% and then test. This should prove if its a permissions issue.

Re: display problem

Gavin P

Everyone one has this problem except for one guy.  The IT guy compared everything and it was the same.

As for copying the files, we tried that also.
I sent a copy of your reply to the IT guy.

Thanks
