Re: Problem of CATV

Hi,

1) VERICUT does not output the inversed model. VERICUT has no concept of a left hand coordinate system (standard being the right-hand rule). But in VERICUT 6.0, you will have the ability to reverse the STL model. Still it will be a manual operation in VERICUT once the models are transfered.

2) Possible reason:

Many CATIA site administrators use the old IBM method of installing once then copying the installation to other platforms. This fails in the windows environment since the registry entries are only created during an installation. This situation can cause the error.

Also, CATIA's installation program had a bug with R12, and I think also R13, where installing a parallel update (ie running both R11 and R12, or R12 and R13) broke the registry entries and cause the same error.

Fortunately, there is a utility program that fixes the registry entries. Run the following line (either from a command shell or the Run dialogue:

PROGRAM FILES\DASSAULT SYSTEMS\B13\INTEL_A\CODE\BIN\CNEXT.EXE /REGSERVER

The "B13" part depends on your CATIA version.

Re: Problem of CATV

It was brought to my attention that a solution was found for the Model Placement problem with CATIA V5R16.

Please disregard the previous suggestion. Please contact your local Tech Support (support.ap@cgtech.com) to receive the latest executables.

Sorry about the confusion,

Serge
