Hi. I am having some troubles with the UG interface to Vericut. Most of my cutting tools transfer correctly, however standard grooving inserts and round button inserts don't. As far as I can tell the tools are defined correctly in UG, but in Vericut's Tool Manager the tools have all zeros for the control point data. When I edit the cutter data for the grooving insert, it says its a chamfer, single end (correct) but the D value is zero. This causes the tool to be created with no height. In UG there is no place to put in the height of the tool.
As far as the round inserts are concerned, the control point is always the center of the insert, even if I have defined the tracking point to be a different location.

I have come across this problem also. I haven't noticed the problem with the round cutters, but with the missing D-value. Annoying but pretty easy to fill in... The error pop-ups in UG related to this are worse.

Yeah, the UG errors are horrible. I have 30 pop-ups every time I run this particular simulation. Fortunately, it's not my job to fix UG problems. I am just supposed to fix the Vericut problems. At least now I know I'm not crazy. Thanks for your input.

I, too, have this issue. The problem you speak of must have something to do with the Vericut section of the UG interface. We have run UG for 5 years without any issues related to tooling until we integrated Vericut. Now, when we verify a job, we get an error report for each usage of a groove or round insert. It seems that the logic for building the interactive Vericut tool table has numerous holes within it.

The problems generating groove and button tools has been fixed in VERICUT version 6.0. We are in the process of final testing prior to releasing this new version of VERICUT.
