Reference tools

I have a master tool list of keycutters setup as 1 cutter and 1 holder which defines the non cutting portion. When I try and pick one of them as a reference I only get the cutter, not the holder with it. How do I get both using a ref file?

Thanks
Ron

Re: Reference tools

Ron,
Tool manager can only reference the various pieces of a tool, not the entire tool assembly. Currently the only way to reuse an entire tool assembly is to use the Copy From feature. But that copies the tool, it is not a reference.

We are enhancing VERICUT 6.0's tool manager significantly, and one of the features being added allows you to reference a complete tool. We also added a search feature that allows you to search a set of tool library files for a desired tool based on some search criteria. This plus a few other new features should make tool manager better when working with a "master" library, as you are doing.
