Solid or Surface tools??

I am exporting solid geometry from Pro/E as STL into Vericut for all my holders, and turning tool inserts.  In 6.0, the tool manager window shows the tools very odd, like they aren't solid.  I guess there is a chance that they aren't solid, but i thought the STL format was solid by default....is there any way to confirm if they are solid or surface?  assuming they are surface files, how do I make them solid?  I tried polyfix, but It doesn't seem to do any good.

Thanks,

Mark-

Re: Solid or Surface tools??

I had the same problem with some of my .stl files which were used as holders.
I solved this problem by double clicking on the 'Holder' within Tool Manager and changing the Normals from 'Inward' to 'Outward' in the Tool Modify window.
